Rick McKee currently teaches elementary music at Acworth Intermediate School in the Cobb County School District in Georgia. He was recently selected as the 2011 Cobb County Elementary Teacher of The Year. He also received Teacher Of The Year accolades at schools in Whitfield County and Floyd County. Additionally, Rick serves as Adjunct Instructor of Music Education Kennesaw State University. He has previously taught music education classes at Shorter College and The University of Georgia. Under his direction, the Garden Lakes Elementary Chorus performed at the 1992 Georgia Music Educators Association In-Service Conference. While in Rome, Rick served as director of The Rome Children’s Choir and also performed with The Clocktower Jazz Ensemble, a jazz orchestra. In earlier years, he taught elementary music in Whitfield County, GA and Shawnee, Oklahoma.

Rick has been a clinician for large choral events throughout the state of Georgia, including GMEA’s Statewide Elementary Honor Chorus in 2000 & 2012, The Northwest Georgia Choral Festival in 2006, and numerous district and regional honor choruses. McKee has an extensive background in church music, having served as a youth and adult choir director in the Northwest Georgia area.



Angee McKee is currently serving as editor and marketing director for Cosmic Possum Music. Additionally, she serves as co-director of the St. Cecilia Children’s Choir at The Episcopal Church of the Ascension in Cartersville. Angee previously served as Part-Time Assistant Professor of Music Education at Kennesaw State University, where she taught Music for Early & Middle Grades, General Music Methods, Educational Technology and Literature for Children's Choir, and Learning and Assessment. She taught public school elementary music education classes for 28 years.

McKee holds a Bachelor of Music Education degree from Berry College, and a Masters degree in Music Education from West Georgia College. She studied piano with Gershefski protégés Faye Kesler and Betty Sue (Tolbert) Smith. McKee has earned level two conducting certification from the Choral Music Experience Institute. She has conducted music workshops in elementary music education for public school music educators throughout Georgia, worked as a consultant and clinician for Yamaha’s Music In Education Program, and has also served as a choral clinician and accompanist for numerous honor choruses throughout the state. During her public school teaching career, McKee supervised numerous student teachers in the field of elementary/general music education.

McKee was selected as 1982 Teacher of the Year at Emerson Elementary School in Bartow County, the 1992 Teacher of The Year at Cartersville Elementary School, and was also recognized as 1992 Cartersville City School System Teacher of the Year. She was designated as a Master Teacher by the Professional Teacher Education Unit (PTEU) at Kennesaw State University in 1998. McKee was named the 2010 Music Educator of the Year by the Georgia Music Educators Association.

McKee is a member of Delta Kappa Gamma, Sigma Alpha Iota, Choristers Guild, American Choral Directors Association, Georgia Music Educators Association, and the National Association for Music Education.
